Default Weird engine idle

When im in park and have the ac off for about 5-10 minutes the engine goes into a very weird idle, It'l spike around 100 rpm. It sounds like the pistons can barely go through a cycle or something, but once i turn the a/c on it goes away. I recently installed an aftermarket cai if that has anything to do with it.

Recheck all your connections on the CAI. I bet the problem lies with the install.

Could be the MAF (mass air flow) connection

Could be the MAF sensor installed backwards.

It is on my Mustang. It's just a rectangle & can be inserted either dirrection but only works correctly in one dirrection.

i've tried three different combinations to connect the regulator. 2 out of 3 ways have lead to the check engine light turningon saying im running too lean. These were with the coupler on like i was told by volant or without the regulator wire. The way im running it right now is by taping the regulator wire to the wire leading from the ecm. Was i suppose to disconnect my battery during any of the installation steps? instructions it came with are very vague
