Is there a difference between 2wd & 4wd suspension?

Sorry for a newbie Ranger question, but not sure if it's an illusion or actual but I always thought all Rangers were the same ride height, aside from more aggressive tires if an FX4 model, Level II or XLT etc...

I drive a plain Jane XLT 2wd, but saw an Edge 2wd the otherday that looked like it had torsen bars under the front end, truck was bone stock but the owner said it was 2wd. I looked under my Ranger and it's just coil springs and shocks.

Also is the rear spring pack on say a Sport, FX4, 4x4-XLT bigger/ larger than say the regular 2wd XLT or base truck? reason I ask I always see Rangers with higher trim than mine carrying tons of stuff in the back with not much sag. My truck sags badly with just 500 lbs.

Man, you have a lot of reading to do.

I can tell you an edge comes with tosion bar suspension up front that you can adjust to ride higher, and 2.5 inch blocks on the leaf sprung 8.8

all EDGE trucks and Sport trucks (rare exceptions in cases wjere its not) are torsion bars and are therefore 4x4 height. (regardless of drive) everything else is lower

btw to fix that sag, just get an add a leaf! will help ALOT

all 1998+ 4x4's have torsion bar suspension.
all Edge's have torsion bar suspension
all sports (2006+) have torsion bar suspension
