Default Can you upgrade a 4 cyl to a 6?

I tried a search on this topic, so my bad if this has been discussed.

I was just curious what this would require (besides the engine). I have a 2.5l 98, 5spd and I wouldn't mind a little more power.

Thanks

Engine, transmission, engine/trans wiring harness, PCM, Y-pipe, probably a few incidentals like power steering and A/C hoses, possibly more. If you go to a 4.0L and drive aggressively, a swap to an 8.8 rear axle would be good.

I would stay with the same 98 year for the V6 donor parts. 99+ V6's have PATS w/chipped keys. 97-back have other electrical differences.

Cool thanks Bob. That is a little more than I am capable of tackling, yet. And Gary makes a good point. I think I will focus on the positive side of my 2.5 for now, 25mpg. :P
