Default Ghetto Blue destruction (traffic collision)

So,

I'm kinda pissed off. Yesterday on my way home from my engine class the long and short is I was involved in a traffic collision where i rear ended a Hyundai.

Hyundai was destroyed by the steel bumper of the Mazda. The bumper was pressed back into the tire, passenger quarter panel was bent and the grill was cracked up, hood sustained some damage.

a few pics to share:

This was my first major traffic incident so I guess I'm a bit stirred by it. I got a citation for around $150 it sounds like so that kinda lame too. I'm more upset about the ticket and the future insurance issues than I am the truck because luckily so far it seems that I can drive the truck now with the bumper pulled back.

Still sucks.

Cheers...
Wily

Thx m8,

I hope it does. I'm not a body man so I don't really know what to do at this point.
I did some work on my Dakota yesterday to try and get it out of my driveway; so i guess if something major happens I have that as a temporary ride.
I drove the Mazda around after the incident and after the tow driver pulled the bumper out for me; the alignment is a little jacked but i am able to get down the road. I noticed a small coolant leak now but haven't been able to pinpoint it.

So did you get an alignment? and if you are leaking that usually isnt good.

No alignment yet. Yea I know leaking = bad . I'm just going to keep my eye on it for the moment and see if i can find where it is coming from.

I may have a touch of "good" news in all of this. I was outside just now doin stuff and i put a piece of cardboard under the truck to check for leaks and all. I found a drop while I was out there. The reason this is "good" news is because I traced it back to a spot that has been dripping for a little while now. So it's "good" because it doesn't appear to be anything new.

So far anyway, I'll be keeping an eye on it.

yea it is good that no one was really injured. I look at the situation and of course realize that it could have been a lot worse all around. I'm thankful that no one was greatly injured. Im glad that I can more or less still drive the truck. There are a lot of things that could have been a lot worse if anything had happened differently. It sux I got a ticket on an otherwise clean driving record. It sux that my truck is now jacked up when i was hoping to sell it and get a few extra dollars out of it. But in the end that is all material stuff.

Anyone know if a ranger grill will interchange with the mazda grill?

thanks
