Not sure what drugs Ford is on getting rid of the Ranger, I've had my 2011 for three weeks and in that time with fuel rising 10-15 cents a week I have had soooo many Full-sized guys say they want to down size their trucks. Looks like Toyota will be the only company left with a small 4-banger economy truck..... . Oh I forgot Nissan still makes a small truck but nobody buys those anyway.

Oh by the way when I got my '11 three weeks ago the rebates were 3500 on Rangers, thats why I took the Kool-Aid

Also does anyone know when Twin Cites will shut down all together? Are they still pumping out Rangers....

PR:

Yep, TCAP is cranking 'em out now even faster than last year (thus my original post)! Trust me, when that place makes the last Ranger, it'll be all over the news.

I don't know if the Rangers are just over-priced in Canada, but the current rebates are

Sport V6 - $6000 off + $1000 in free accessories
XL 4cyl. - $1500 off + $1000 in free accessories

When I got my Mazda I got $5500 off the 4 cyl. B2300 model. How can you pass up deals like this? It's no wonder they're selling so well.

You have to remeber taxes on goods tend to be much higher in Canada than the US. From what I have heard this is even more true on cars/trucks (as long as they aren't hybrids/eletric).

Also, Canadians are still getting screwed over by MSRP. MSRP on 90% of things still has us $10 and Canada $15 despite the fact the currencies are basically 1:1 at the moment and have been for 3? years.

I got the same deal on my '11.

I don't believe the marketing people at all. There's still a healthy demand for small trucks, but I would guess the unit costs to build one Ranger vs one F150 is pretty close. But, the full size truck commands a higher price thus it's more profitable.

We bought our 2011 Ranger Sport three weeks ago. It listed for a tad under $26K. With tax, title, gap insurance that cost $600, and admin fees, the out the door price was just over $21K. Ford is dealing on new Rangers!

That's good to know; I just rolled over 117K miles in my Ranger on my morning commute and I'd like to keep it awhile longer (250K is the goal), but I wouldn't mind some new wheels!
