crank pulley:

hello. i have a 96 ranger,with the 2.3 4 cyl. i have to put a new timing belt on,but i don't know how to get the crank pulley and crank sensor gear off. i have done a ton of the old ones,without the crank sensor,but this type is a first for me. i don't want to get heavy handed and break something. does the sensor gear and pulley slide off together?where do i pry without messing something up. thanks.ron.

i figured it out. thanks for all the help. i guess no one knew how to do it or,didn't want to take the time.

Not many of us have 2.3's here, and those that do, aren't too knowledgeable on them. It's a matter of the right person seeing this post, which unfortunately didn't happen. It works this way on all internet forums.

Glad you got it figured out though. Sometimes it just takes a break to cool off to figure things out.
