Default reliability

Hi all,

I am new here and am thinking of purchasing a 94 Ranger 2wd 4cyl, 5 speed. It has 104,000 on it and I am just wondering on the reliability. I currently own a 2001 BMW 330Ci and am going to keep it as my fun car but want a car that i can drive to work and occasionally home to visit the parents which is a 3 hour drive. So if anyone can let me know about the reliability of these cars because I don't want to get it and five months down the road it completely dies. I know it of course depends on how it was taken care of and honestly its pristine and only one owner. thanks because anything helps.

Dusty

If you take care of it. 200,000+ miles are in it's future.

+1, just keep up regular service intervals, maybe shorten the intervals to like 3,000-5,000 miles and you'll have it for ever.

true say

rangers are very relaible and part of this is due to their simplicity while the other remains ford quality

You can probably Google it. Search phrase "94 Ford Ranger Service Schedule"

grab a Haynes manual for your year ranger. they're great. if anything does go wrong you can replace it with step by step instructions in the Haynes manual. it also has all regular maintenance and intervals in it

thanks guys for all the info. I really hope it lasts a long time. I mean I am going to miss driving my BMW but I think that the maintenance that I am not going to have to do to it is going to pay for the ranger within the first year haha. Hopefully it works out for me tomorrow and I will surely post some pictures when i get it.
