Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
Motorcraft 5w-30 SynBlend and Motorcraft FL-800s oil filter. That's what truck was made with so why change?

Motorcraft oil and filter or either Penzoil oil and a K&n filter.

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
Oil preference is a very personal thing as mentioned, but I feel obligated to share my experience as a retired Ford tech and lifetime mechanic. No offense meant whatsoever, but I strongly recommend against Quaker State, Pennzoil, or any oil made from Pennsylvania crude... and I say this as a native born Pennsylvanian.
Every engine that I've ever been inside of that had a history of PA oil usage had excessive gunk build-up in the valve train, oil pan, everywhere oil tends to pool and cool. I think it has to do with the chemical makeup of the crude, since there's so many coal deposits in the same area.
However the synthetic oils made by the same companies are fine, I happen to use Castrol Syntech but most any brand synthetic oil is pretty good and I use it in all my vehicles no matter how many miles they have when I get ahold of 'em. I once had a '78 Ford Econoline with a 351 V8 that had 180,000 on it when I bought it, cheap because it had a slight rod knock from a worn rod bearing on cold startup, just a few knocks when it fired up until the pressure came up. I started feeding it Mobil 1 and it lasted another 120,000 miles until the tranny blew. The rod knock never went away but it didn't get any worse either.

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
been putting Mobil 1 in this truck religiously for over 10 years now. At around 100,000 miles I moved up to 10w30 from 5W30
Filter is Motorcraft FL1A or the Purolator equivalent since Motorcraft and Purolator oil filters are the same filter

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
I really have not done enough oil changes yet to know what I like best. The Motorcraft oil doesn't seem to be to slick or something, because I can get better MPG's from just about any name brand. Castrol GTX was good but doesn't last very long, made the engine run a lot smoother than Motorcraft though. A synthetic like Mobile 1 is just the way to go though. I doubt I will ever go back to conventional.

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
I use extra virgin olive oil because if it's better for us then how is an engine any different. And a Mr. Coffee coffee filter.

+ 1; Similar to growing up in my wife's family and saying anything negative about the Cleveland Browns. Don't quite understand it sometimes -- make fun of my kid, fine, but not my oil and not my football team.
To fully answer the question -- the Ranger and the wife's Ford Edge typically gets regular Valvoline 5W-20.
