I guees the parafin wax can and will clog the oil pickup screen. I suppose that is the reason for not using the QS

So far, I've only changed the oil once in my truck, since I've only put about 5k on it since I got it. When I changed the oil last, I used Valvoline full synthetic. When I change it again here in the near future, I'll either do that again, or try amsoil, not sure yet.

I don't get to use Royal Purple that much because it's expensive. I stick with buying my own oil and oil filter at walmart. Motorcraft 10W30 and Motorcraft oil filter FL400S for my 3.0. The ford dealer I use to go to always hated it when he could only charge me around $8.00 bucks because I brought my own oil and they couldn't say a damn thing because of the brand Motorcraft, and Ford's logos are all over it.

That's the draw back of Royal Purple, it's too expensive. $9.50 bucks a quart here and the only place I have found it in my area is Oreily's and they aint cheap here at all.

I think there was another thread similar to this...

But I use Kragen/Oreilly brand oil and Fram filters.

I know, cheap stuff, but this ain't a racecar.

And 250K later I don't regret not using Motorcraft.

That's in your area/region. It aint in mine cause I've already looked. $55.00 bucks was what I was quoted. That deal they had has already lapsed here.
