Default Suspension lowering?

So I was looking on Stylintrucks.com today and I saw that they have Airride technologies air suspension kits available for 2 door 2wd Rangers. That got me thinking. What is everyone's opinions about suspension lowering and just airbagging a Ranger?

I have a 2001 XL two door 2WD with a 3.0 and I'm looking to drop it. But I wanted to know everyone's opinions on which route would be best, and what their evidence is to support their choice. I'm really leaning towards contacting ART to have them fab up a bolt on 4 link set up like they have on the site and possibly bagging the front too since that makes logical sense to keep it even. And what also is getting me to lean towards bagging it is that if I stay airbags, it's nothing more than going to a station, or flipping a switch and pumping the bags up to compensate for the added weight of a 5.0 down the road. Though since I'm no expert with suspension (always went to DJM for all their suspension kits) I want peoples opinions. I finally have the time in a couple weeks to really start turning a wrench on my truck and I'm not too worried about down time anymore since I had a Chevrolet Tracker given to me by a family member who can't drive a stick.

First question, how much do you want to spend? Next ART probably wont make you a "bolt on" kit because that's a waste of their time, money and resources. If you want a bolt on kit look into KP Components. With bagging your going to have to cut, and cut and cut some more. personally if you want to bag it, go for it but be prepared to spend at least 3G's for everything.

I was only looking for a couple up front and about 3 or so in the rear. Enough to make it look good and have a nice stance, but not enough to seriously hinder the action of getting over speed bumps. I am going to go with DJM because I did speak with ART and they said that they could build me a system, but it's upwards of 2 or 3,000. With DJM it's only about 400-500 to drop the front 2 and the rear 3 and I have quite a few options as far as shocks go from them. I was looking into getting shocks through Eibach to stiffen the ride up and prevent massive amounts of body roll that the truck currently has, or possibly just sticking with DJM's kit specific shocks.

if you wanna stiffen up your suspension do a 4x4 front sway bar and a bronco II rear.

itll make your shit drive like a brick but you'll stick as good as your tires do.

Wait, seriously? I didn't think that was possible. That's much appreciated. I'm pretty sure I can find a sway bar set up in the salvage yard i've been dealing with. They have about 14 Rangers on their lot that arn't going anywhere anytime soon, the years vary from a 2000 to a 2007 so I'm sure I could find a set up that'd work. I am going to get a set of Akuza 18's with Mich' sport summers as soon as I get a lowering kit installed. I used to have a set of 18'' Saleen S281E wheels but sold them to pay bills last month. I only ran them for a few weeks but I could definately tell a difference in handling.

Wait... you're talking about lowering your truck, and putting turbos on it and blah blah blah blllaaah.. but yet you had to sell some wheels to pay your BILLS?

You sir are a shit talking dreamer and you should probably focus on living instead of wasting money ruining your truck.

Okay, long story short, started doing it, shit happened. Had to start over.

Engaged now, got a house, fiance's enlisted/active duty, new job with a stable company. Yes I admit, I havn't updated threads as much as I should have, but on the same hand, my personal life isn't the concern of anyone. And things happened that I don't care to explain nor do I feel I'm obligated to detail.

And before you start lecturing me on ''what I should do'' as if speaking to me like I'm a child, why don't you take some time to maybe ask personally what happened? Because obviously you have the time since you went through to find a post that was 7 months old
Sorry to be a jerk, but, I joined this site due to always being able to find something about my truck on here and always being able to find someone who can help, not because I expected that there are people whom go out of there way to comment on a post that's 7 months old.

And fact. Will continue to be an FRF member reguardless of who says what and what someone thinks about me.

Take it easy...Merry Christmas.

I didn't bump anything, I actually completely forgot about this post to be honest. I never lowered my truck because I honestly couldn't decide on who to go with. The only suspension thing I've ever talked about was on someone elses thread and only mentioned something about stock shocks and how they'll have a shorter life and a harsher ride on a drop, etc.

Other than that, didn't even remember this post.
