I swear, I get about 2 trips out of the truck, and something new breaks.
It's a '95 with the plastic tank.
I'm sweeping out my garage and noticed a broke strap hanging and the gas tank sagging.
I ordered the 2 new straps from Advance Auto and will try to get them in tomorrow.
Anyone been there done that?
Can I replace them without removing the tank completely? I'd like to just syphon the gas out, then support the tank with a jack/board. Will probably have to cut the old rusted strap bolts off (I can only imagine). Hoping I can fish out the old ones/get the new ones in without totally pulling the tank. Although I imagine I'll at least have to unbolt the filler tune from the body.
I should also mention I was tempted for a moment to just throw a ratchet strap on it
Actually I may still do that to get the truck to the auto parts store versus carpooling with my Wife/using her car.
