Default The sweet sound of the 572 BBC...

Here's a website you guys must see and hear. If you ever wonder what a 572 Big Block Chevy sounds like then here you go:

http://www.nelsonracingengines.com/v...-the-dyno.html

This has got to be one of the best if not the best sounding motors ever. A few details about this motor: 9.0:1 compression, Hydraulic Roller Cam, Fuel Injected beast. They've got a few other motors in there that might interesting to you guys as well. On page 7 they have a twin turbo V6 that puts out 1200 horses and another big block chevy (522 c.i.d.) twin turbo monster that puts out 2000 horses. The biggest I've seen them go was 704 cubic inches twin turbo monster that puts out 3000 horses. Now that is sick. I wonder what this would feel like in an old school Ranger? I bet it would be awesome though.

They sound pretty good. But I still like what I posted earlier. God knows how much cutting you'd have to do to get one of these to fit in a Ranger. I've seen the 572 BBC up close once. That thing is huge! it sounded ok, but it still didn't sound like the one I posted on here. I'd say you would have to completely redo the entire front end from the firewall, and floor pans all the way forward just to get one of these monsters to fit. It would have to be completely custom everything forward.

Default Check this out...

Here's a link to a twin turbo 522 BBC. They cruise around CA in a 1963 Pontiac LeMans pushing 2000 horsepower.

Yes they do, but who can afford them. I'm sure they can do a basic rebuild alot cheaper than what they do from scratch though.

Actually, that motor is no bigger than any other BBC and a BBC has been put into a Gen I Ranger before & a Bronco II.

I've got a 402 BBC on my engine stand with intent on puttin it into a 99 Ranger chassis.

Chevy inside a Ford.....NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing that makes the 454 and 460 with more cubes is boring, crank, piston, etc.

The block is the same.

Not quite. I've seen other BBC's next to the 572 and the deck height and the overall width was a little bit bigger, but not much. I look forward to seeing that project you mentioned.

Nope, not quite. The cam and cam bearings are different and so is the deck height. along with more cam choices than ford. Alot more. But both are good motors IMO though. I wouldn't refuse either one. These days you get what you can get.
