92' Ranger
I have been driving Rangers for years. I recently rolled my 92' single cab Ranger and I need to know what year cabs will fit it. I have been told many different answers. Some have said 83-92' and others have said just 92'. I don't want to get the cab off and figure out I have the wrong size! Thanks

Re: 92' Ranger
For sure 83-92 will fit, but I am pretty sure that the 93-97 cabs will also work, you may just have to do a front end swap which would make it purdy.

Re: 92' Ranger
I deleted the other thread as it was asking the same question. no need for two of the same.
Welcome to the forum by the way! Like Jimmeh said, I think any cab up to 97 will work too, but the bodylines will be different beyond 93. To maintain the right bodylines and not have to swap front ends, i would probably stay with 89-92 bodystyle (Second Generation Ranger) There may not be much difference between the 83-88 (First Generation) and the 89-92 (Second Generation) but like i said, I would definitly use 89-92 cabs

Re: 92' Ranger
Thanks for the info. It is a great truck with an engine that won't quit and I hate to scrap it since i just put in a new tranny and lock out hubs. It is a beast work truck that hauls my firewood so it does not have to be pretty, just tough! Like the owner!

Re: 92' Ranger
So do you think the carraige bolts will line up on a ranger can from 83'-92'? I don't care how it looks i just want it to fit! I'm handy but not an expert mechanic.

Re: 92' Ranger
They should. I know a guy who had a 92 Ranger Pull truck, but he had a 93 body on the frame

Re: 92' Ranger
The cabs are identical on 83-92 Rangers, the only differences are the interior and the front fenders/grille, FYI.

Re: 92' Ranger
I've never swapped a cab on a Ranger, but I have on my cousins Dakota. It helps to have people there to help you, but otherwise it's pretty simple. We had my cousin, my uncle, my dad and me doing the cab swap and we got it done in about 2 hours.

Re: 92' Ranger
you will have to use the interior peices from the 92 if you want it to look stock still because the 86 has a totally diffrent interior but the cab will work the 1st and 2nd gen are the same bodywise from the firewall back, you may have to swap the inner fender and radiator support out for the fenders and front end to fit tho. you might be able to get away with just the radiator support
