I'll answer this....NO

They also do not meet some of the crash standards that we have in the US. Now the way around this, buy just the chassis and body, no engine or transmission, then later, send up an engine, then you can register it as a kit car. Or you could just ship up a body, buy a wrecked truck, change all of the VIN's and reregister the truck. I saw a truck from Mexico one day in Olympia back home, it was bad ass, but they won't meet US inspection

the biggest thing i would eant is the motor and tranny, i wonder if i could snag a diesel set up, the body is cool, but i like the extended cab better.

you could, but it would be easier having the whole truck, the wiring harnesses are going to be entirely different

I really don't see why it wouldnt pass. I mean, its not a jo-blo automaker. It is still FORD. There going to have alot of similar manufacture methods. I don't see how FORD is going to build them "special" or "different" from what the majority of trucks they are making. Its like saying that FORD builds an auto cab and a manual cab. Its the same cab, with options for both. We need someone who has done this to chime in. But IMHO, I think they would be fine, or would need very little modification to make it pass. Well, at least in MI, for you CA folks, I can't speak for you! lol

a lot of it is crash safety. there were a few cars several years back that had to be re-designed slightly due to new regulations by the US. the reg that sticks out the most is one about hitting pedestrians.
