Wow some of you guys are lucky to be getting what you do! I get right around 160 miles to a tank which comes to be around 9.5mpg...I've never let it run way down though so the 160 is with the needle a tad above empty.

As far as gas milage goes, it stinks to get the same as a some full sizes, but in my town I think a full size would be a pain to drive. I have a smaller house and a full size wouldn't fit in my garage. When I test drove my ranger, i brought it home and made sure it would it in the garage.

A trick I've learned to do to get better gas mileage is to not fill my truck up. I put in maybe at most a half tank if I know all I'm going to do is city driving. Because if you think about it, you're shaving maybe 10 gallons of unncessary weight off and If you're close to a fuel station and don't mind frequent trips it's a worth while trial to take on. Because weight is the enemy and even though our trucks are the lightest of their category, there's still a lot of weight in places that can be helped. Heck I just took my spare tire down and that in and of itsself took 50 pounds off. With it starting to warm up, I don't see the reason to have all that weight back there.

+1 for the plus of a small truck not being gas mileage but being small. When my old truck was stolen insurance gave me a Dakota which isn't a full size and but even still it's size was still a pain in the a$$. It didn't fit in my parking spot at work and driving around in tight spaces was dumb as it had a turning radius of a bus. and if you think Rangers get bad mileage you haven't driven a Dodge

This is definately true. A gallon of gas is close to 6 pounds, so having half a tank is almost 60 pounds less weight than a full tank.

Wow i think if i was getting as low of millage as some of you guys i would sell the truck...

Reason i say that is i make alot of trips down to lower Mi it is just around 560 miles from my drive way to a friends drive way. I was getting just around 250 miles to a half tank give or take it depends on how i am driving.

No kidding. My old Dodge was like just pissing the money away. It went far on a tank, but it had a huge tank too. I do miss it, though.
