I'd say you make some good points there. I wish that car manufacturer's weren't stupid. Yes I know it may not be their coveted f150 or Super Duty's, which frankily they make more money on. But why not spice it up again? Put a big engine, available in a small package...you have a mini Lightning, or a Mini Raptor.

Agreed. They praise the F150 like it's god. I personally hate the F150, and will never buy a new one for the rest of my life. Ever since 1997 it has gotten uglier and uglier, and boy does it get worse every year. It doesn't even look like a truck any more, especially when it has that 5 ft bed or whatever.

Re: The future of the ranger...
How is the ranger considered an entry level for low income folks when they start at 20k or all but the most base model. Also i will not buy a new full size until ford or dodge offers a diesel in the half ton from the factory. All 3 companies have tested prototypes and designs ready for production. They are just waiting for one of the others to drop first.

That actually has to do more with what the big three "think" we want.
The Ranger, if you price in the world of trucks, even at 20k is considered a entry level truck. Find any other similar truck they all start out around there my friend.

a decently loaded Taco with V6 runs at approx $42,000 and up here so considering i got my ranger at just over $18K, its a steal, perhaps it seems entry level lol

Pal, have you seen the price tags of F150's, and F250's? And some of the diesel versions cost as much as a house. So how is not entry level for low incomed families? And you can always find a Ford Ranger very easily. They've made enough of them to be considered a successfull line of trucks.

Re: The future of the ranger...
It's a shame that Ford doesn't go to websites like this one and LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE rather than trying to "guess what we want". All they have to do is read a little bit and post a poll on here as well as other sites to see what the people would like and go from there.

Yes, but the stupid to intelligent ratio is skewed towards stupid. Stupid is easier to influence, and in many ways, stupid translates into more money for Ford.

Re: The future of the ranger...
The future of the Ranger is the F-150 in North America. The rest of the world gets a new truck.
Maybe in a couple years ford will learn that they screwed up and try a band-aid like they did with the Taurus…possibly a short-box, standard cab, v6, F-150 "Ranger"
