Re: The future of the ranger...
retro sytling can be good like the 05 mustang sorta, but they totally F-ed it up with the HHR or the SSR in my opinion, just seem like akward vehicles

well you gotta point there, but if they do I'd be afraid of what crap would be thrown at it. for example: the new F150 is ugly as sin. But it does have some killer features though. That's what scares me.

Re: The future of the ranger...
I think they should offer a Ranger with no extra bullshit. Give me one without a computer, with a manual T-Case, a manual 5 speed, no sensors, no power, and i'd be a happy man.

Lol I don't exactly like the new 150, but I wouldn't mind a redesign similar.

I miss oldsmobile myself, the new GTO wasn't as successful as they hoped it would be. They ruined it basicly. Here's a car GM would do well to bring back in this EXACT BODY STYLE:
this is a 1984 Buick Grand national.
This was a killer car. Most people called it "Darth Vader's car". And it was fast.
At one point the only thing that could beat it was a corvette (mainly due to handling, the GN didn't exactly handle that good).
Can you imagine if ford done this body style a bit for the ranger line? It'd be different that's for sure.
That would be an awsome body style for the ranger. It'd also be about 10 times more areodynamic.

I'd love one, and an Olds 442.
The future of the Ranger is strange, they are keeping it everywhere but here

Re: The future of the ranger...
GN FTW! I have to say I love the newer GTO's though. Since we're bringing up Australian cars can I mention the Ford Falcon? Just listen to this sexy beast!

That GN I posted has gotton best of show 7 times in one year! for something that old to look that good is a feat, and guess what the paint is ORIGINAL! That car has been babied to have a 100% bone stock components since the guy bought it new. He takes care of it. Nascar used the old grand national for what, 4 years? That was one of GM's best designs and products they ever come out with.

Re: The future of the ranger...
I was told by the car dealer when I bought my Ranger that this is the last year for the Rangers. He told me that Ford is going to put the Ranger money towards the Explorer and invest in it more. That's all I have been told on the topic.

Pal I hate to break it to you, the dealers are programmed to forget about the ranger. I was told that for the last 3 years while I was getting prevenative maintence done (I always look around and see what's availible). The dealers always try to tell me that a V8 or diesel wouldn't fit which is pure bullshit. The V8 swap has been done to death, and if I'm not mistaken are there not some diesel swap kits availible?

There are adapters, really you can adapt most any diesel to fit anywhere, they are industrial engines, so the same engine might do 30 different things and be mounted many different ways.
