There's one thing I think we all can agree on, the Ranger does need alot of redesigning, and additonal engine options would revamp the old Ranger line: Here's my old ranger that I bought new, 7 years ago:

These are old Photos but I still have it and it's pushing 110,000 miles on the odometer.

This poor old truck has taken a beating. I'm on engine number 4, The passenger side front fender fought a deer and lost, I had a lady rearend me in a parking lot and it didn't even put a dent in it (she was waiting for me outside when I left walmart). Randy Cook redone the hood and front fender after hitting a deer, he fucked up the hood latch. And 1 year to the date the front fender's paint started to crack and peel (he put too much hardener in the paint). All of the tire are the stock size but mud terrains (P235-75-R15 Cooper Wintermark).

Here's the current exhaust:

It's a Cherrybomb 24 inch glass pack dumped with the stock pipe size (2.25 inches in/outlet).

Well yeah but these are older pics of my current daily driver. There will be some new pics posted soon. It now has a huge dent in the passenger side bed (I was hauling firewood and I threw a piece a little short and put a dent in it). The tires in the photo are long gone and the cherry bomb glass pack is no longer red. Just ordinary small changes would update it yes, but they do need to redo the interior badly. They give new meaning to the term if it aint broke don't fix it don't they considering it has had the same dash for at least 15 years and almost always gray has been the choice in every model known to man.

I've had gray in all 3 of my rangers and I am getting sick of it myself. I bet black would be a nice interior, and get rid of that damn carboard headliner, I had to have my back glass replaced and it now sags a bit. Give me one of those snap in abs headliners.

There you go, also had some chrome accents to it and you're talking something sharp.

Not a big chrome person, but if done tastefully I'd totally agree

I love the size (that's what she said) of the Ranger, and the way it drives. People always give me crap about having a Ford, and give me all of the usually "Fixed or Repaired Daily" garbage. Anything I have had with it, has been general upkeep and stuff that HAD to be done. Tires, brakes, etc. I have never really had a major problem that some other owners of other vehicles have had.

It would be cool to see the Ranger keep going....I would love to see a diesel option (I think someone else mentioned that.)

That is true too..haha

I have been to Africa and you hear a lot of Diesel motors there. I just love the sound. They sound like beasts in general.

They last longer hands down. I also have a four year degree and I help run a maintenance department of a fortune 100 company lol but that's beside the point

I believe that the demographics for the Ranger are such that Ford won't do any upgrades which matter. I think that they feel the Ranger is only an entry level vehicle which lower income folks buy. This seems to be where they are pitching their tent anyway. Too bad as the Ranger has a huge following and keeps it's market share.
