The last time I saw an engine torn down using quaker state, the block was a total loss. The engine couldn't be rebuilt period. The heads looked like someone poured a cottage cheese/wax substance in there. So if quaker state is so good and Valvoline is garbage, then why do 90% of the engine and machine shops use valvoline and won't go near quaker state? That engine I mentioned earlier used nothing but quaker state and he ended up buying a brand new engine rather than being able to fix what he had.

Was there a Oil analysis done?

And was there a guaranteed history of oilchanges as per the manufacturer of the Engine?

No Additives like the Lucas crap?

Oil Change Interval?

Viscosity and was it proper for that engine?

What engine make and model?

Was this in 1964 or was it recent?

Please explain all the FACTS about how this wax filled engine that had run QS was such as mess, I really want to know.

And also explain How the Block was a total loss, was it out of spec?
It couldnt be Cleaned?

As I said, I really want to know, Since I have a 1985 Saab turbo 900 that still runs great and has done so on QS for the last 15 years. 256000 miles and counting.

With no powerloss and 3 different valve cover gaskets I had the chance to actually see the heads and they looked fine.

I think the Engine youre talking about had bigger Issues than the "wax" you still think exists in modern Motor oils.

To answer your questions, he did have an oil analysis done and that was the cause of extreme failure after only 90,000 miles. He changed his oil religously every 3,000 miles. The engine was a 2005, 4.0 SOHC (it came out of a Ranger). He also kept every oil change receipt since he bought the truck new. You might be using their premium oils, he wasn't. By the way Lucas aint crap it's actually pretty good. Now their premium oils might be ok.

I didn't get this overnight, in fact it was hard to get but worth it...




The only way to get this certifacte is to complete a multimedia course, then you service Ford vehicles for 6 months at a dealership with actual documentation (usually a copy of your pay stub), Then you take a 2 day final exam with Ford Master Techs. So I think I know more than what you're giving me credit for knowing. But that's ok. We all have preferences and QS isn't mine at all.

Most manufacturer's are running Mobil 1 synthetic from the factory. I run it in both my trucks, my Ford, and GMC, and it does an awesome job. Really any synthetic of name brand is going to work just as well as any other. Some just have different additives. I took a college class on this stuff. I've seen the test results, and we had a lab on site. This was proven time and time again in front of me. The major difference in a synthetic verse conventional oil nowadays really comes down to heat and abuse. If you abuse and run your engine hot, the synthetic will last much longer. Otherwise, same thing, get a name brand you are getting a good product.
