Lol! My 351 is bored .060 over. Not a whole lotta wall left there either. Haha.
And you don't always hafta pay to play. I've got right at $3k into my truck, and that included an entire parts truck. Lol.

No duh? Did you read the second half? "You could squeeze at least 8 out of the 6"
He said you couldn't find a big diesel for under 30k if that is a diesel its well under 30k
----------
I'll dig later all I could find were 4bts.

I'd take any diesel over a 5.0 for a race truck.

Well..been awhile. But, the ecoboost 3.5 is nearly 12 grand...the 5.0 is 8....and take at least 2 grand in electronics to get running not to mention fabrication and tranny...so for 350-400hp, its worthless...and the diesel idea isnt bad....150,000 on one is good, the blocks seasoned...theyre meant to be beat on....i have two, a obs 7.3 ps and a lb7 duramax....i would honestly spend the same money for a 4bt and gear it out for about 85...300hp and enough torque in a light truck that could embarass most vettes, non shelby mustangs and definately most dodges

Its really not an apples to apples thing I love the powerstroke just beause theres a lot less electronics...its a 95 whereas my wifes truck is a 03....im sorta cheap so when the 3 inch or whatever downpipe was installed and the cold air intake for 400 bucks as opposed to 700 for the dmax...its no compare
----------
And i wont even look at a new diesel....your 100 dollar oil change turns into a 500 dollar change because of the def fluids and all that crap...plus theres nothing my 4k 1 ton and my wifes 25k 3/4 ton cant do that the new ones can...other than stroking someones ego because they have a truck worth more than their house

Hey the new ones can do a lot of things the old ones can't.
Cause a divorce, cause bankruptcy, cause ulcers, make people laugh when someone wrecks it, etc...

I really don't know why they market the 30k tow rating... more like a small dick compensator honestly... if someone hauls close to 30k then they probably have a truck rated higher than that. No one really just tosses 15 tons on a pickup one day.

Its not legal to tow above 26k gross without a dot license...so its just someone saying fuck it...why not....because honestly for awhile i really thought about a newer cummins....but now you can pick up older 94.5-98 obs powerstrokes for 4k...and mine came with a bw gooseneck, 4 inch exhaust and a trailer brake.....i just paid for a full fluid change and drive the truck and pull anything...her truck really only gets used because its 4wd...ill say this much though i miss my ranger haha

I just don't know what I'd haul... then again I'm an auto body technician not a farmer.

Its funny. My boss has a 80 something or 90 something blazer as a plow truck. Thing pushes through everything and hauls all the scrap in the back around but he refuses to tow cars with it because he would have to insure it. So we use a 2009 1500 because he dd its
