Default I'm at my limit!

[rant]

So ya, I'm nearing the end of the rope with this truck. It's pretty and all but drives like shlt. Brakes throb when braking, synchros are non existent, power, I know I bought it as a 3.0 economics truck, but come on. There is absolutely NO power in low end. In reality, only the brakes and synchro issue is bugging me.

When braking hard, the right front tire locks up abs style (grab, release, grab, release). When doing any other braking, the right rear pulsates. I have good brake pads all around, drums and rotors don't appear warped but I'm not ruling that out.

The synchro issue is just stupid. Ford forget to put them in at all?!?! Going from 1st to 2nd takes a few sec extra if the rpm is over 3500-4k. Same with all other gears.

The transfer case was not engaging 4 low, now it does not engage 4 hi. But at least the 4 hi light comes on along with the clicking. For 4 low, i only get one click with no light.

It reminds me of this song

"I'm in a hurry to get things done, so I rushed and rushed til I'm done. All I really want to do is live and drive...but my damn Ranger ain't fine."

LOL I ain't whining at all... just venting. Better to vent then to sell it IMO. They are fixable issues so i'm not too upset.

The trans will probably get rebuilt with new synchros, the brake system will get a mustang rear disc brake system and i'll throw a manual t case in later on.

so the electric t-case is controlled by solenoids? If thats the case you could try to throw on new solenoids or check the connections, cheaper than swapping the whole thing out..

and yer drum is warped.

sounds like its time to turn the wrenches, i've spent the last 4-5 weekends doing preventative maintenance on mine, valve covers, brakes, shackles/leaf bushings, bumper brackets, etc, etc... get used to it man, its a 12 year old truck.
