Drafting a big rig works but the $'s you save drafting in gas might end up getting spent on paint repairs and a new windshield as 18 wheels throws a lot of shit.

Man, i wish our rangers came with the optional onboard computer other companies started using in the 80s.

Does the scangauge really tell you the actual mpg? I thought we were missing a sensor?

In any case, my truck drinks as if gas was free.

Btw following traffic can save a little gas, but it does a nasty number on your paint.

In about 40 percent city, 60 hwy I get anywheres from lowest of 23 to high of 27 or 28 in my four banger.

Sometimes I drive hard, sometims not. I dont do more than five over anywheres, but Im prone to lane changing and passing anyone going under the speed limit 5 or more mph. Many people here cannot drive well in the curves, even some locals.

Yeah scangauge tells you MPG for current trip, tank, instant ect... and once calibrated it's very accurate. People with the UltraGauge also confirm it's very accurate.

Tonight I filled up and ScanGauge said I had used 68.4L (18.07Gal) and it took 68.7L(18.15Gal) to fill. I think missing by 0.3L (0.08Gal) is great.

It does help that I filled up at the same pump at the same station each time as some pumps vary more than that percentage.

I'm a slow driver. On the highway I usually run about 52-54, that's about 2300-2500rpm that's just where the pedal sits nice. I don't have cruise control, it's an auto, 4.10's, 2.3L. In town i never get above 2100rpm and take is easy. I get between 16 and 20mpg. I've had it as high as 25 before but that was all highway driving.

This winter it went down to 15-17, but my dad had been driving it and he isn't a gentle as I am. My MAF went out to so that might have had a bearing, (maybe)

As long as you drive sensible and don't beat on it, i don't see why your MPG can't be above 20.

Just checked my milage today after 178 miles on the next tank. This time I drove a little harder and had 2 60lb sandbags in the back for about half the miles, and a passenger for about half.

Only hit 19.7 mpg this time around..

Again, it's a fully tuned up 1995 3.0L with auto, 3.45 gears.

I got 21 driving real easy with no extra weight.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's funny that Diablo Blanko wrecked his truck. I think it's funny that a guy who posts:

"All you guys sayin it isnt possible need to learn how to drive." stated his truck was wrecked (post since changed).

Yea, I'm new here. If Jack Roush logged on today, he'd be newer, wouldn't he?

I always use my rpms . My boats , I used to do real well by cruisiing at rpms versus fast and slow , and thats why city miles aren't so good . Always putting a load on the vehicle and it uses more gas . I drive approx . 100 miles a day highway , and cruise around 2K to 2100 K RPM's ( 65 mile per hour ) with cruise control and I do pretty good . Not great as i never expect that but I get close to 275 to 300 miles per tank ( 12 to 14 gallons on fill up ) . So a tank lasts me 3 days and I fill up on the 4th . My truck cannot get any better than that but it puts me up around 19 to 22 MPH . My Ram 1500 extended cab , 318 , used to get around 12 MPH and 26 gallons to fill up so I am real happy with this truck .
