Talking FIXING EVERYTHING ON MY TRUCK, 1300 total.

So, I'm spending about 1300 to fix the clutch, slave cyl, flywheel, balljoints, tune up, and breaks.

after that, I think I will take off my fenders and try to get the dents out.

then maybe a new paint job would be nice.

and also some new rims and tires.

excited to get my truck running great again.

Are your doing the work yourself and why a new fly wheel? What's wrong with the old one?

$1,300 to fix up a $1,200 truck (after fixed up) makes no sense to me.

No, my cousins mechanic he works for is.

The fly wheel bearing is locked up or something like that, I'm not sure.
But they had it machined, and then it wasn't working. So now it needs a new fly wheel i guess.

yeah, I don't get it either. But I'm putting half in and so is my mom. My mom wants it because, when i buy a new truck.. she wants it for doing arrins and shit. But I'm only putting about 600 into it, so It's not that big of a deal to me.

and actually haha I bought the truck for 825$ But when I bought it, it was worth about 1200.

flywheel bearing...? you meen the pilot bearing...? if the pilot bearing is locked up its just a matter of replacing the pilot bearin, that normally comes with the clutch kit.

as a side note, 1300 for that work seems high. I just went thru my ENTIRE drive trains, clutch, slave, 7 U-joints, swapped gears, gear oil, ball joints, tie rods, inner axle bearings, wheel seals, etc. And I only spent around $450 in parts, of course I did the work myself.

I'm guessing the bearing was galled in and they tried to grind it out and FUBARed the fly wheel.

$2,500 for a ride in a $25,000 to $65,000 truck world? Makes perfect sense to me.

It is your money, but why not take that $1,300 and find another ranger.

You paid $825 for the truck, now you are going to put almost double that into repairing it. To me it isn't worth it.

Don't worry about what it is worth by blue book standards, no one is going to pay $1200 for a 21 year old truck that has dents and scraps all over it. Figure out how much you would sell it to someone for and what they would pay for it. That is the number you should be looking at and thinking if it is worth fixing or finding a different truck.

^Yeah, I understand wear you are going. But The paint is good, I just wouldn't mind a different paint job. And yes there are dents, But they can be fixed. Though there is a tad bit of rust in the usual spot, on the box.. But not to bad.
My mechanic (cousin) was telling me about a guy who is buying rangers for 3000 bucks and sending them to mexico. As long as the engine is running he will buy it. But I doubt I will sell it to him, Plus that does not sound realistic to me.

If he is buying ranger for 3 grand as long as they run, I have 2 I can sell him, possible 3.

If it is legit it is worth it. Take the $3000 add the $1300 for the repairs and you can find a nice ranger for $4300.
