might sell both trucks

I am irritated with all the rust underneath causing me headachs. I feel like a new thing pops up everyday and something breaks. I love working on my trucks I just hate having the same stupid headachs. They all are because michigan roads suck year around.

I think I am going to fix up my two trucks as much as possible and sell them. I figure I can get 4000 out of the two. I then am going to drive down south and get a ranger with NO underbody rust. I hate it grrrr.... this is me venting I guess. But take a look at my bed and how it doesn't line up all of a sudden...

What could be the reason?

I did just redo my hangers and shackles so maybe they were bent up a little? Or what I am irritated though right now.

mabe it just wants you to lift the front half of the truck?

i hear ya on the crappy roads & salt = pain in the ass rust. a kid that went to my highschool replaced the entire back half of the frame on the ranger he had due to rust, along with plenty of other crap. but once he was done he had a nice little truck, for way less $ than a new one, or even a drive out to arizona to find something with zero rust!

either your sitting on uneven terrain, your frame is twisted/bent or your cab mounts are shot. Also, if your having so many rust issues, perhaps the cab mount mounting plates are rusted.

i would bet the cab mounts are blown out or rusted off.

Even if you find a truck from down south, it is just going to look like the underside of yours in a couple years anyways.

If you car concerned about the frame, pull the box off and wirewheel all of the rust off of it and then paint it. You could do the same to the cab but it would be a lot harder to get most of the rust off.

If you are working under your truck, wear some safety glasses. That way the rust that falls off will not get in your eyes.

not to be a jerk, but unless you wash the underside and the entire truck everyday, there is going to be some rust after 17 years. ESPECIALLY living in the midwest. Now, if you had a 2003+ for example, then I could see why you'd be upset.

Spray on truck bed liner on a new truck should help in the long run.
