Default The Ranger neglect...

I just looked a brand new Ranger today. I've noticed 2 things. I mention 4x4 and they tried to steer me towards an F150. I said no not interested. The interior was extremely close to what I have now minus the 5 speed manual tranny, and the cassette player( mine has both Cd and cassette). and the same color gray. The Ford dealer also refused to order me one with a V8. He wouldn't even consider special ordering one. My question is why do they keep ignoring the Ranger and it aint just the dealers either. Hell, Ford even ignores the ranger which is sad. If they offer more engine choices and options at a decent price and ALLOW THE PEOPLE CHOOSE what engine they want, they'd dominate the light truck industry to say the least. Plus offer as a choice of which body style between todays and the 1956 F100 body style( scaled to the ranger's size of course) and let the people decide and see which model gets ordered the most. also offer a fuel effeicient 4 cylinder diesel. I think Ford should listen to the people alot more than they do now. They don't even read emails now. They just use an auto responder. If they got on here and held a poll and listened the ranger wouldn't be neglected. I thing it'd be kool to have a Ford ranger that looked like my avatar with more engine choices myself. OF COURSE THIS IS MY OPINION.

The small truck market has been going downhill for a while. A major revamp on the Ranger isn't going to happen, too much money and the sales still would be low.

If there was a truck that looked exactly like the one in your avatar, it would be called the F150. Your truck is a full-size truck. It's distant grandchild is the current F150. F1 turned into the F100. F150 was brought out in 75 as the F100's bigger brother. Then, in 83 the F100 was ditched, since the F100 and F150 were pretty much the exact same, except for the F100 being lighter duty.

The small truck market is gone for now. We all just have to face it. Eventually people will frown upon big trucks like the F150. Just give it a few years, and we'll have our small trucks back. England and Japan don't have F150's for a reason. Once America gets as overcrowded as those countries, we'll be kissing the F150 good bye.

You really asked them to special order you one with a v8? I don't even know how that makes sense in your head.. If they made a truck where you could just order whatever you wanted in it, it would cost you a bloody fortune because each truck would be customized.

A thousand units a week and that's not enough! Are they greedy or what?

I dunno considering the truck hasnt changed in pretty much 10 years, they must still be making profits since they prob order the parts by the bulk. I just wish they made the engines VVTI to add a small boost in power and fuel economy, perhaps a 6 speed manual for the 4L

They went from 250k units a year to 50k a year, that's what matters. They want to improve on their SUV and small SUV line, which is very popular right now; trucks not so much.

If they let me have one that was made out of gingerbread and gumdrops they would get more customers. That's the bottom line here.

If they could make a Ranger out of gingerbread and gumdrops, I would tell them to make me a woman out of gingerbread and gumdrops. Real women don't taste very good.
