As both the Ranger and B-Series are 100% built by Ford I think most people would automatically buy the Ford Ranger rather than the Mazda badged Ford unless they had a good reason to buy the Mazda.

People who know the trucks are the same ask me ask me why I bought a Ford from Mazda as if it was strange thing to do.

I guess because they think the Mazda name will bring up the value and reliability like most Jap cars do

Was that a guess at why someone would buy a B-series instead of a Ranger? Are you thread jacking/changing your own question?

not necessarily, its funny how many people who found out I bought a ford (i am from an import family) were like why didn't you buy the Mazda B series?

I answer, because the ford was cheaper and more to my taste.

Yeah but isnt the Mazda better, especially more reliable. is their answer

I say: you do know that its exactly the same truck? Right????

The say: of course thats why I am suggesting you get the Mazda instead, its more reliable!

---------Ugh FACEPALM PEOPLE!

ha ha, Eric, I was wondering when you were going to comment here. I went to Dodge dealership and asked when they stopped offering lock trannys on their newer models, they said they have been offering overdrive trannys for quite sometime. I say, yeah but they are guaranteed to lock up into first an never shift again :P. ok that was my facepalm moment

The mazda is uglier, the wheels are terrible...

Both Ford and Mazda had $6000 off...

I've always been fond of driving vehicles by american companies that are built in America. NOT foreign companies that build vehicles in america, then send the profits to foreign soil.

Got it cheap from my aunt. Ford has been reliable for my parents. 230k on a ford windstar before i totalled it with a deer. and he had 3 ford trucks over a while that have all been more then awesome for him never had any major engine failures just regular wear and tear.
