Default Opinions on this jack for roadside "emergencies"

So currently, since I bought my truck, I do not have jumper cables, a jack, or a tire iron, or anything lol. I need to start getting that stuff in there since waiting on roadside assistance is a pain.

I want to put a decent jack in the cab that doesnt take up a ton a space. First I thought about putting a regular floor jack and mounting it to the center humb in the back, but then I found this bottle jack: its cheap and small. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ndingMethod=rr

even smaller: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Torin-Jack...-Jack/14560038

I was thinking of tucking it away in some corner or mounting it sideways on the floor under one of the fold out seats.

Im sure it will be fine, but i thought id get opinions on what you all use.

Note that it does have a minimum height of 8 1/2 inches, so make sure that it actually fits under your truck (shouldn't be a problem, but always measure first).

Definately, Good point. It may be a little tight under the front arms.. id have to check. Should be fine for the rear. However, the top looks like small flat plate.. would this work lifting from the rear axle? or even under the A arms

That 2 ton one look just like the jack that came with my ranger..

I tend to carry a jack like this..http://www.jcwhitney.com/2-ton-hydra.../p2008300.jcwx

I just leave it in the bed year round mostly but i have a cover on my bed also.

cool. ya, a cover or tool box may make that work. A jack just chillin in the bed out in Vegas, may get stolen depending on what part of town you park in. Unless you lock it.

Go to a junk yard and find a ranger like yours and grab the jack and tire iron. I use the factory jack while on old loggin roads just fine.
I have a tool box so I also carry a bottle jack like the one you have listed, It works ok, I put a 2x4 under it for a good base.
Along with all of that, I bring some 2x4s, and other wooden blocks to help if needed. A small shovel, jumper cables, rope, comealong, small chain saw, small 100psi harbor fraght air compressor..
