Brush Guard on a 2wd
Hey what are your guys feelings on a brush guard on a 2wd ranger? Where i live is way back in the sticks there is deer moose bears wolves and just about anything else one could hit. I was thinking of trying to find one to add to my ranger but i didnt know if it would look stupid being it is a 2wd model..
Does anyone have pics of a brush guard on a 2wd ranger?

hmm.... I know I've seen one around here, somewhere.... hmm...

nah.. sorry. can't think of where I saw it.
also, if there are deer, moose, bear, wolves, etc... shouldn't you be looking for a deer guard, a moose guard, a bear guard, or a wolf guard, anyway? a brush guard will probably only really protect you from... um... brush.

Im not really looking for protection i Would like it to slow down anything i may hit before it hits the truck tho. Maybe help knock down some of the damage.
Trust me i know if i hit a moose nothing is gonna help same with the bear.
Even tho my truck is 2wd i still have to take it places that alot of ppl wouldn't go down in there 4wd full size trucks for work.
I will have to look in to this some more i need to get my seats first

Oh and my truck is a 1998 ext cab

Re: Brush Guard on a 2wd
I have a WAAG. good lookin unit but weak mounting brackets. does not hold up well to even to brush.
I have a warn winch bumper on my full size chevy, it can take a hit, but I still don't want to hit any deer or elk with it!

yes with shit street tires i have been stuck in the front yard on wet grass. When i had The good At/s on them i have taken it back in the woods alot. I will be going back to the At/s here soon. Not saying that i have never gotten stuck because i have but when the guys in the z71 dont want to go down the trails because a ranger hardly fits in them i will push on.
I will have to see if i have pics of it after mudding up in Canada.
Also up here if you run the snowmobile trails and woods roads you can cut the hour and 10 min drive to town down a good amount.

Re: Brush Guard on a 2wd
Nothing wrong with a brush guard on a 4X2. People have been doing that and also putting lift kits and big tires on 4X2 trucks for years. If you want it, go for it.

Re: Brush Guard on a 2wd
2 wheel or 4 wheel in my opinion it still makes a truck look good (depending on truck)

Re: Brush Guard on a 2wd
imo, it's kinda like putting a roll bar on a 2wd... doesn't make a whole lot sense to me.. but, it's your truck, do as you wish..
