I used to repo out in Indiana with my uncle like a year ago. ALWAYS CHECK THE VIN. I aught him that lesson.

We backed up to a for explorer sport trac that was green. our license plate matched. He picked it up i told him to get out and check the VIN he insisted it was the car. So we started rolling down the street, (they were doing construction so it was all dirt and icy) Next thing i know i look to the right and there is a girl running next to the truck at about 20mph. My uncle speeds up and has to turn and goes off the road and we get stuck in the mud with a car on the back. Sher riff comes along with the RO and it turns out the VIN number was one digit off. The registered owner and her husband got a divorce and he lived in south carolina. They bought the same truck the same day when they were married and the dealership switched the license plates and no one ever knew because they were the same truck
