You can only tint your windows 30% total here, including the oem tint.

Re: Tint laws
No darker then 30% on Driver window and passenger window. No longer then 3" on the front windshield, and then windows behind the driving area there is no limit.

Re: Tint laws
That I dont now. Because some states require front plates and others dont. I believe it would not affect you until you take up residency.

We can tint the top 15cms of the windshield here. I believe the bottom part is the same.
Of course, mirror tints of any level are illegal.

Re: Tint laws
What was awful?
I never had problems seeing outside, i had max tinted ray-bans, and then bronze mirror tints. Turn on the dome light at night, and you could see through easily.
The silver mirrors and that mirror/black combo i always found ugly.

Here in Mi it is 30% on drive and pass windows the back dont matter and a 6 inch strip on the windshield i think it was.
My side windows are at 5% i do believe its been a while sense i had it done. The back ones are right around 17% over top of the stock tint.

Re: Tint laws
I have no idea what the laws are here in ontario, I think its 20% for us as well,. but my brother had his 2003 Dakota at 12%, got one warning from a p/o and thats it in almost 5 years of ownership. personally 125 looked good but it was hard to see out off on dark back roads at night.

Tried to search on the ontarian gov site, nada. Tried to look around and found several sites that state that there is no legal %, just that the tint cannot be excessive (talk about subjective).

Yeah but if the officer is behind on his quotas, he might think 30% is excessive. And then you can discuss it in court.

I run 15% all the way around with a brow that goes about 2 inches below my rear view mirror. Never have trouble. I did have trouble when i ran limo on front and double limo on the back. and i backed in to a few telephone poles lol
