Default PVC bike rack

Just something I made to transport bikes in the bed of the truck. Keeps them upright. PVC is cheap and it gave me something to do.

do you have a way to mount it in the bed so it doesnt slide around? and how do you keep them from coming out? looks cool tho!

I thought about those questions but never really tried anything yet. The front tires are pretty snug. I figured I could ratchet strap them to the towards the cab.

in bed racks are NOT cheap! at least not the good ones...a thule bedrider runs for 150-200
and i can make a better one cheaper. i hate the rack i have and prefer my tailgate which is free....the cover wasnt but thats cuz i didnt want to use old moving blankets anymore since i ride in the rain all the time
----------

theres this rack called thule instagater and it uses the slot between the tailgate and the bed...u could do something like that

I'm planning on making a rear rack for the heavy Chevy to haul some kayaks on. I was going to use wood, but you have reminded me of the almost greatest material man has ever invented, lol.

Looks great, bud. Needs paint, though.

The bikes my girlfriend and I own are nothing special. Most of the racks I found online were for the bikes with quick disconnect front wheels. I didn't think it would be worth taking the wheels apart each time we wanted to transport them. I did see a picture of the over the tailgate which is pretty neat looking. Where did you buy the cover from? I just wanted to build something....

looks good. I see you have them locked with a cable and a pad lock. I should probably get one to lock them up. People don't care how hard you work for your money. They just think they don't have to work hard.
