Why not? I wasn't planning on using the 1 inch stuff. Was thinking at least 2 and 1/2. Plus, my kayaks are plastic so they aren't heavy, lol.

Mine are like maybe 30 pounds. I know my sister can carry one by herself and she's weak, lol. I'm not sure how I want to do it yet either, and even though it's like 40 degrees out, I'm still calling it too cold to be standing out there, lol.

Mmmhmm. I have a headache rack. However, I want to put the kayaks in the air because they are 9 footers, and I like to be able to use my bed to throw my camping/fishing gear in as well as anybody else who comes along with me can throw their stuff back there (say, my buddy with his pontoon or his float tube). Hence why I want a rack in the rear, lol.

Nice I have a PVC rack I used in my bed for 5 bikes but I have moved that to storage duties in the shop and I now run this,

goes on the rear most of the time but when I tow I mount it in the hitch under my tool box.

Here is a link to a Titan forum that has a picture of one that looks real good.

http://www.titantalk.com/forums/tita...than-30-a.html

The link to the MTB forums that he mentions is broken, but looking at the picture of his, it shouldn't be too bad.

The best thing about a DIY PVC rack is that it is light, cheap, paintable, and essentially custom fitted to your bed. Useful for people like me with steppies.
