According to the site, my 03 only had 5 listed recalls, one being CC switch, and the rest light related. I find that hard to believe. I think they leave some stuff out.

well im not affected by this recall but i get really close to it.. sounds like i will have to look to see if i am having this problem and if i am i will warranty this out like i did with my parking lamps

I just found out that 2009 ford ranger 4x2 have a recall on the spindle. apparently they might fracture under normal driving conditions and the wheel will seperate creating a high risk of a crash.. im looking into this one by calling ford right now

The Canadian site for the recall has a detail not mentioned... it's for 2.3L engines only... also applies to the 2010 B2300 we have in Canada

On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.3L engine, the fuel line in the area of the throttle body shield may not have the protective convolute properly installed. If the protective convolute on the fuel line is not assembled in the proper position, the fuel line may contact the edge of the shield. Over time this contact may chafe the fuel line, resulting in a fuel leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will trim the throttle body shield, inspect the fuel line for damage, and replace the line if necessary.

I need to try and get more info as I thought my truck was on it but this Canadian recall notice says for the 2.3 L engine . Mine is a 3.0 so i am not sure now .... I checked online last nite but could not find anymore info .....

How do you find out what day it was made? My door decal only has 10/09 but doesn't have a day.

Remedy:
DEALERS WILL TRIM THE THROTTLE BODY SHIELD AWAY FROM THE FUEL LINE AND INSPECT THE FUEL LINE FOR WEAR, AND REPLACE THE LINE IF NECESSARY FREE OF CHARGE.

Why don't they just install the corrected fuel line instead of trimming the TB?

Local dealership said it's not in the computer, yet.

Doest it work by us recall or canada's for my truck? I mean i bought it here, but it was built in the us..

you cant find the date.. but i think its all in the VIN number.. go to www.fordowner.com and you can check it there under the services link.. Its not out there yet though but on march 7th it should be

call the dealer with your vin, they'll tell you your manufacture date. theyre trimming the plastic shield, not the TB itself.

Well DUH! I am registered on Ford Owners site but didn't think to check it. I just checked and there's the recall notice for my truck. I called my dealership and set up an appointment to bring my truck in next Tuesday. Thanks!

Interesting in the way it was worded as they would be trimming on the TB.

errr... that's usually the way it works. I don't think they will be sending out recalls today for vehicles manufactured in 1990..

OK , Just checked mine and it is not scheduled for a recall . So I guess its only 2.3 L then .... I'll check again next week as well ....

Thx for that site fordowners.com as I registered when I bought the truck and never knew I could go there with My vin and find this out .

I think it's the 2.3L only. I asked if it was only the 2.3L engine and got no response.

Here's what my Ford dealership did.

Before: TB cover is against the fule line but mine had the protective cover.

After: Per Ford's instructions to trim the TB cover.
