Default HID 6000k Dual Beam

Aloha,

Was wondering if I needed anything special for getting some 6000K dual beam HIDS on my 2001 Ranger? I've been hearing some people talk about a relay? What exactly is that relay, and does my 2001 Ranger need one to use 6000K dual beam HIDS?

Mahalo!

----------

Oh and what are some good brands of HIDS? I seen the cheap ones on ebay, but I was looking more towards quality, but cheap sounds good too...any comments?

Nothing special. The kits are plug-n-play now. The hi/lo kits are plug-n-play also, plus one wire you have to hook up to the battery. You want a 9007 Hi/Lo kit. I'd stick with 35w since it is more than enough.

DDM was a very popular source for members on here. They're getting out of that business though and are almost completely out of stock. So if you place an order, it may come back as backordered or unavailable.

There are lots of other companies that sell them. However most rip you off. You should never pay more than $90-$100 for a hi/lo kit. There is also a member on this forum (GGLighting) that sells them as well for very reasonable prices. You can PM him and he'll get back to you very quickly.

Locally there is a shop that sells the hi/lo kits for 60 bucks with out warranty and 100 with warranty...you think that this is a good deal? Do you think I should spend the 40 bucks for a warranty??? 60/100 for a kit i can get today and won't have to wait a few days for it to be shipped...or spend about 60 to get a warranted kit but i would have to wait for it to be shipped to me....HHHhhmmMMmMM!!??

Well, you're paying almost as much for the warranty as you would be to just buy a whole second kit. I wouldn't bother. Shipping to Hawaii could also make buying it locally more worthwhile.
