Default no!!!!!!!! why!!!!!!!!!!

ok here is the deal. i let a friend use one of my trucks to move no big deal right? he has driven this truck many of times and knows how to drive a 5speed. well on his way back from up north to bring me my truck back he tells me that he went up a hill and went to a lower gear. at the top of the hill was tree down in the road. he told me he got out and went to look to see if he could make it around the tree. as he turned back to the truck he says that it just went rolling back down the hill and got just a bit off road and went rolling about 6 times. i asked him if he set the e-brake or not and he tells me that he cant remember. now im glad he is ok and stuff but at the same time this was the truck i used every day as a volunteer firefighter. light bar lights every where on the truck. i will post some picks when i get back later tonight from the impound lot after i see if there is any thin left from the truck.

That sucks! I don't lend my vehicles out to anyone that doesn't have extensive experience with a stick because of stuff like that. Glad he's ok and I hope he's willing to at least help pay for the repairs/replacement if not pay the whole bill.

Man, that is really bad news

Luvmud: on the subject of insurance, coverage follows the vehicle. This means your insurance is primary. If you have collision coverage, then your policy will cover the damage to the vehicle, or its actual cash value (if totaled), minus your collision deductible. If you don't have insurance (or collision coverage), and your friend does, then his policy is secondary, and will cover your truck in the same manner (subject to collision deductible).

If your friend is a stand up guy, he'll pay you the collision deductible so you aren't out of pocket. Best of luck dealing with whichever insurance company is involved (some are easy to work with, many are bad). (Yes, I used to do this for a living )

Damn man, that really sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. Best of luck on the insurance.

This reminds me of the time my grandpa left one of his antique Farmalls up on a hill while mowing. Got off to take a piss, next thing ya know the tractor rolls right into a tree, knocking the front wheels right out from under it. My grandpa had already made it to the house before the tractor started to roll. Dad and I had just come back from the store, and went looking for grandpa to tell him we were back. Came upon the tractor, and neither of us could believe it. My grandpa comes out, sees us, then sees the tractor, and starts to let out every swear word known to man. Never seen him more pissed than that day.

Better hope he's a true friend or else you'll most likely be settling something in court.

truck is a goner. at least i got all emergency equipment out except my full sized light bar nothing left of it. any way for now he gave his bike and the title to it. he told me give him a month to pick up the deductible or i can sell his bike and keep the rest as a payment to a new truck. the bike books at 10,000+ and with only a 1000. detectable but heck im just gonna keep the 1000 and let them keep the truck. technically i still have 2 rangers my red 98 and my white 2000 so i think i may upgrade to a f350 power-stroke. just up setting that this happen but like some of you said "you never have true friend"s this guy and i have been to hell and back to gether and we got each others back no mater what. so i probably wouldn't even asked for the money but he offered and i took it..............

will post the picks when i get home and can get em off of my cell.
