Should I trade?
I need something better on gas since I travel over 500 +/- miles a week. My Bronco has a 300 inline 6/5spd manual and it gets to my wallet alot. It's ok but I need something a little bit better. Maybe 20+mpg if possible.
I'm hearing people to tell me to get a 4.0L Ranger. I have a 2.3L Ford Ranger 4x4 but the engine is messed up and then people told me it won't get good gas mileage since it's a 4 banger and has to pull the extra wait of the 4x4 axles, etc.
I'm planning on trading my Bronco for a 1991 Ford Ranger 4x4, 4.0L, 5 spd manual. So I need some help deciding.
He says the PS is locked up. He has a new driveshaft and case for the truck too.
He said truck hit him this past weekend.
He says he has a new driveshaft and case for it. Says the power steering is locked up. And some guy was test driving it and broke the shifter so he is fixing it.
What do yall think?

Re: Should I trade?
I know the insurance people and tag office is tired of me keeping switching my insurance and tags to different vehicles but they either suck up to much gas or get messed up.
Going to go clean up my Bronco. It only needs a Ujoint for the rear driveshaft and front left turn signal lens and AC compressor. My Broncos in basically good shape.

Those wheels look like crap on that truck.
You should send them to me so I can take care of them for you.

Re: Should I trade?
honestly getting much mileage out of a lifted ranger isnt gonna happen, you might make 18-19 if you are really good, but that truck looks a little beat. i would look elswhere.

Re: Should I trade?
It has potential, I've seen 23 mpg out of my Ranger driven conservativaly. I have a 4.0 auto. It's also newer though as I have a 97. The thing I'd tell you is it may be a fun toy to buy, you may save in fuel, but what do you have to dump into that monkey to get it running before then? Is that going to save you any money?

It runs from what he says. He drives it to work. He said he is going to fix the shifter. I don't konw if he is meaning the ball piece where it has all the gears listed or what.
I'm going to drive it tomorrow and if it runs good. I will probably get it. It will be better MPG than my Bronco.
I drive 55-60mph as it is.
I already got a toy, my 79 F150 4X4 wooooot

It's not that bad. I can get another bumper. The body looks fine except back of the left side of the bed below the taillight or what's left of the taillight.
Rest of the truck looks good but I will check it all out AND make SURE it HAS FLOORBOARDS unlike my 85 which had cardboard and chickenwire.

Re: Should I trade?
sounds like you have some toys already, maybe you should get an actual commuter car like a civic or something, that will get you a long ways, plus more money for the actual toys!

I can't have a car buddy. I work on our farm as it is and carry greasy stuff and fat women at least they can fit in a truck bed.
Don't want to be like a Barbie and drive a mustang.
NOW maybe if it was an old bad ass muscle car.
