First Ranger: Good Price?
I've never had a ranger, so therefore this is my first post. I'm looking to get and older '89-'92 (higher bumper, before body redesign) and found this one really close. With the shell, I'm thinking more like $1200. Considering the info given, the condition, and oil leak, how much do you think I could get it for?
I have for sale a 1990 Ford Ranger. The truck is 2 wheel drive and has a little lift on it. Ther is also a small oil leak I believe that is coming from the oil pan area or may be coming from the valve cover up top. I am not 100 percent sure. I am wanting to get 1600.00 OBO for the truck. the truck's registration is up to date for the year, has a working radio and system, and camper shell on the bed. it has 146,000 miles on it and was smogged with no issues about 3 months ago.

Re: First Ranger: Good Price?
It doesnt' say the trim level, If its a base or xlt. Manual, or Auto Or if its 2.3L,2.9L, 3L or 4L. So depending on how clean it is and its options. I think 1,000-1,200 Is a fair price.

Re: First Ranger: Good Price?
I bought my 1990 supercab 4.0 says Lariet on it (so whatever trim that means) for $550 about a year and a half ago. It also had an oil leak when I bought it. I wasn't terribly worried about it for some reason so I barely got around to fixing it.
However, it's had a couple other issues come up, which I think is to be expected.
My oil leak was the valve covers which weren't as difficult to replace as I had expected them to be.
After about a year of driving I got a coolant leak which ended up being the intake lower manifold gasket.
Other items I replaced at various times throughout the year were tires, water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, and spark plugs.
As of now everything seems to be working like it is supposed to.
So my vote is try to talk him down if you can!

Re: First Ranger: Good Price?
So it turns out it's a V6 auto, but I still don't know if it's 2.9 or 4.0L. I'm checking it out today. Thanks for the input though. I'll be sure to post pictures if I get it.

Re: First Ranger: Good Price?
Well I got it for 1200. It The fan is cracked, the seats are out of a dakota, the driver door is a different color and doesn't have a handle inside, the shell doesn't have the back window, and tons of faulty looking wiring to two 10" subs that are sitting in a hole cut from the cab into the bed. But all in all, I'm pretty happy.
