Default I found a ranger on a side road.

Somebody put 1999 Ranger super cap 4x4, 140k mileage.
He put $5000 on it but I don't think it worth that much.
It looks okay out side but muffler and underside has pretty much of rust.
I try to negotiate it but edmunds tells me that private party sale would be $2054. Should I call or leave message to him that I can go for it if you down to $2100?
Thanks and sorry for silly question!

With that kind of mileage and if it has been kept well and maintained you may have a battle trying to negotiate. Good luck man, Get it if you can

wait, 14k miles or 140k miles?

Edit: Alright, since it has 140k, you got a little more wiggle rom. That 2100 bucks on edmunds seems pretty low. When i bluebooked my 97 it was worth 2700 or 2800 and we got it for 2900. It's worth a shot, but knocking $3000 off the price seems pretty unrealistic unless there is something seriously wrong.

How bad is the rust? is it rot or just surface rust? As far as tire pressure being low, that's nothing unless there is a hole in the tire.

Good luck, and it never hurts to make an offer.

Get a wheelchair and roll up to their house in it and knock on the door and tell them that price. Maybe they won't roll you down a hill.

Offer $3000 BUT we NEED to see PICS!
