looks as to me some one previously welded it.

Its the front shackle on passinger side.

This is the weld job on the otherside...

I am going to try and have my buddy weld it... what are my options... is it hard to remove a bed?

DO NOT DRIVE!!! It needs to be fixed. You could break your truck more and/or could cause an accident that hurts you and someone else. It is not worth it.

If you need the truck to drive, take it somewhere to get fixed. If you don't need it, park it till the snow melts.

Will something like this work?

http://www.1aauto.com/1A/LeafSpringR...tm_content=SMX

It says this is for the rear shackle only...

Yes, the damage you have is causing the wheel to be off center. The reason the wheel is pushed to the back so far is because your front hanger has been pulled backwards by the wheel and the axle. It is probably broken as well. Once you fix your hangers, you can push the axle back forward and then it will be fine. If I were you, I would take this opportunity to replace all your hangers/shackles, and maybe even your leafs. Because it's only a matter of time before this happens again.

Yes that is what you need. However, you may wanna consider replacing all the hangers at this time.

Update: I got everything fixed. I replaced the front two hangers cause the rear have been fixxed in the past two or three years it looks like. I replaced the bushings too. I really wish I could have replaced the whole leaf assembly but not enough$$$. Ithink I am going to get those leaf supports instead while I got a little cash.

I actually did the whole job with the bed on cause that would have been a nightmare with all those rusted bolts.
