Cracked windshield Argh!!!!!!!!!

I just checked on my Ranger to find that the windshield is cracked about 8 inches in a curved maner, It starts from the at the bottom of the windshield weather stripping to just abiove the driver side window. from what i can see, there is no rock chip nor do i recall hearing a rock hit it. I hope its under warranty

My insurance would go up for 5 years, not worth a windshield in my opinion. any one know how much a windshield on a ranger goes for

Let's hope its an install defect so you don't have to claim it and see your insurance affected.

damn that sucks! i just noticed 3 chips in mine, i was PISSED. i hate not having a perfectly clear windscreen.

that sucks man, ive got a crack in mine too... it starts in the middle at the very bottom of the window like you said and goes up like 4 inches then all the way to the passenger side, i will probably look into getting it replaced in spring

I pay an extra like $3 a month for windshield coverage and when i called to see if they will fix it they said free if its just a chip but if its cracked you have to pay your deductible... wtf, my deductible is $1000, its cheaper to just buy the windshield anyways

I had to replace my 08' Ranger windshield, and it was $240 total (including tax). For those familiar, I had a white decal displaying "Ranger" that was on the top portion of the wind-shield that was factory added. I called a place and they wanted $65 just for that sticker. I said no way.

We in Mass have glass as no deductable so it costs nothing to fix . I picked up a stone or something , so I'll have to go get it fixed as they can repair the chip and not the whole window .

Just the winter up here , Roads are tough , salt , asphalt breakin up , etc .

Are you covered if the window needs to be changed?

When you go in for a chip repair, and don't pay it's because your insurance pays for you, so it sticks in your permanent profile as a claim. The insurance pays anywhere between 60 and 100$ depending on companies, while you can get that fixed for a handshake and 30-40$, no bill, no claim depending on how cool the auto glass place is.

I had to repair my car's windshield 3 times, imagine if i had claimed any (the guy didn't charge me the third one

I have one crack, was on there when I bought it. I've had it for 2.5 years, and has not spread.

I have gotten 6+ rock chips, and...none of them are spreading either. Good windshild I guess. I told myself I'd buy a new one when it got bad...nothing is spreading. Haha

Luckily, ranger windshields aren't that expensive. I had rock dent in mine fixed and the guy who fixed it quoted me $150 for a new windshield in case I ever broke it.

Yes as they will do the whole windshield or fix the chip damage ,,either way no cost to me .....

In Mass , there is no Deductable payment . You just go in to a glass company and they review the damage and contact the ins co . The Ins co pays the glass company direct . No charge to us at all , as its part of Our ins premium . No claim against you either as its called no deductable on Glass .
