Acording to the article, The 99 Electric Ranger made by Ford "Made it's own power"... Now, Seems if it made it's own power why should you need to re-charge?.

Propetual motion charging systems for the electric That is what is needed. But, Propetual motion is an impossibility. Perhaps in the future it might be possible, but I don't think you can take something and have it reporduce itself. If your Captain Picard, Or Kirk maybe.

It might have a generator thing on it, but you'll only get a small amount of power back. Energy cant be created or destroyed, in this case energy is lost through powering the vehicle, friction, resistance and then the rest could be put to help recharge. There was a mythbusters episode on this kinda thing too.

Not yet, but we will. Nanotechnology will bring us there. Imagine never having to charge anything battery powered. It is in our future.

Na, The Government will by the rights to it then destroy it because all the battery companies will be put out of business...

In the 60's a guy invented a carberator that made the engine go 90 miles on one gallon of gas. The Governemnt purchased the product, and all the existing Copyrights, Specs, and knowledge, and the invention was never heard from again.

I heard that one before, I also heard the one about the guy who created an engine that runs on water. He got "food poisoning" soon after. Are these stories truth, or urban legends? I don't see why the govt would nix a new idea, there is always money to be made...

One word: Lobbying.

Invention like "The Water Gas Tank pill" would be the best invention since the napkin.

lol but in all seriousness, what most likely killed super hi efficiency carbs is emissions. emissions controls dont go hand in hand with efficiency. the more emissions crap they add the harder it is to squeeze MPG's from it. take Europe for example, they have non hybrid vehicles that get over 60 MPG's but its only because there emissions controls and standards arent as strict as ours.

Funny... Safety inspections here in Jersey have been suspended because of state Gov cut backs, but, they still have emissions because of federal standards. So, that means, you can have a rust bucket on the road, ready to split in half, but the engine emits low emissions. Huh?, go figure!. The state, fed's don't care if someone dies from a poor vehicle, but cares about the air we breathe more.

I wounder what the vehicles will look like on the road in 10 years?. Imagine that?.

Seems like an oxymoron, can you elaborate? I could be wrong, but it seems that a vehicle that gets more MPG's would produce less emissions. I remember an episode of Top Gear in which they had to find 3 different vehicles and see how far they could go on one tank of gas. Jeremy Clarkson chose a Volvo wagon with a 6cyl diesel turbo. He got something around 800 miles to one tank. There is no reason why we can't have something like that here.

Huh? I wasn't aware diesels were dead. Ever heard of clean diesel? My work truck is a clean diesel. Gets an average of 15mpg and pulls around 18000 lbs loaded up with merch. My 4cyl B series gets that normally. And, I constantly floor my work truck.
