Default New member needs some advice

I just picked up a 2005 ford ranger edge 3.0 after driving it all day today I noticed when I am at idle the seat vibrates. It is idling around 800 is this normal? Plus for a 3.0 the truck feels a little sluggish is this normal for the 3.0? I am a little OCD so I could just be freaking out anoint nothin IDK please help.

Thanks,
Chris

The 3.0's I have heard are a little sluggish. I have a 4.0 and it idles near 800 as well and I think it may be normal for a 3.0 but not too sure on that. Do you know when the last tune up was?

yeah give her a good tune up and clean up the sensors, sea foam it, get it all up to par. make sure the plugs are all good and the fluid is all changed. how many miles?

My 3.0 runs about 750 give or take. 800 is perfectly fine. As far as the rough idle, definitely do as suggested, but don't hope for it to be quiet like a high priced luxury car, 3.0's always tend to be a little rough.

clean the mass air flow sensor, idle air control valve, check the pcv valve, change the fuel filter, clean or replace the air filter, change oil, good call on the tranny and using synthetic. youtube sea foam, a lot of guys on here do it, its good stuff. and if your gonna sea foam it do it a day or 2 before you change plugs and oil.

If you vibrate at idle, i'd check if the muffler is secured in tight, just in case.
