Default 94 Ford Ranger's Brakes Sensitive On Steep Driveway?

I have a 94 4.0L XLT Ranger and I live on a 10% grade driveway, and in the winter, I notice that my truck slides easier than my freinds 05 ranger. It seems as if the front brakes are making the front tires slip vs. the rear tires are gripping tightly. I don't know if this is just because the ranger is a smaller truck, or if its an adjustment in the front brakes?
