used most defiantly i have had 3 rangers all used but the last one i got i couldn't pass up. a 2000 ex-cab 4x4 with only 5400 miles for 4000 . btw i got it last September

I did buy my first Ranger new in '90, but voted used since my current was bought used.

I am going to pick up my 2011 new one today. Got 5,000 in rebates. Got an awesome trade for my 2006 Dodge Ram. The only sad part about this is I am going to really miss the Ram. It drove really nice. But a Job change required me to do something to get better fuel mileage.

Personally, unless you are getting 4x4 I don't get why you would by a new ranger. With how they have not updated the the thing at all in 6 years and not updated seriously in 15, all rangers on the road 98+ look basically exactly the same unless you know a ton about trucks. So why pay 20k for a new one when you can get basically(<50k) new for 12k?

I bought mine used in 2006 with 95,000 miles on it for $4500. Not bad for a 7 year old truck.

I paid the dough for a few reasons...

a) I don't have the mechanical knowledge to do things by myself and don't want to spend all my time in a shop so I wanted something that I knew didn't need work

b) I grew up in a world where we have only had new vehicles... I know different now but back then I thought that was the best way to go

Better Gas Mileage, With the Rebates the Truck was 15,500 for an XLT with 5 year/75,000 Bumper to Bumper. None of the other Compact Truck makers could come close on the incentives.
