Yep that is why I bought mine new, I have seen some of the abuse 4X4's take especially if someone is trading it in, I had a 1990 Ranger XLT 4X4 I bought new and it lasted me 20 years, when i decided i was going to get a new one...well i put that truck thru hell for about a week, I could tell it was in pain when I traded her in.

I had to buy mine new, I just couldnt find a 2wd Manual full load out there plus I was looking at used one and the monthly payment was approx $50 cheaper then the my current one plus the interest on a used one was 8.9 vs the 6.69 of ford. so for 50 more a month i have a 2011 the way i want it and driven the way i want it and i love it!!!!!

Bought new, ordered it the way I wanted it.. Price was right too.. $19,700 for a fully loaded brand new FX4? No brainer..

My 2000 I bought new and had it for 3 years , I loved that truck . Then I just bought this one new as well . VERY happy with it so far . All power except for the mirrors . never knew they had them . It is a real comfortable truck to drive .
About 23K total minus a few bucks , plus I put some money down on it . I'll have it for another 5 to 6 years ...

I don't think I would ever buy a new vehicle. It costs too much for what you get. You can get a good quality used vehicle for a good price. If you are worried about a 4x4 being beaten before it is brought in, take it to a mechanic you trust and pay him to inspect it first.
