Are you going to ask for each specific part till i can't find who originally makes the part for ford?

Pathetic.

LOL. I was being serious. I have picked the Slave and the ICM so far and you have no answer. Those are common failures. How about you tell me a part that is cheaper and better than a Motorcraft

how about sachs for the slave cylinder and unless you are talking about the ECU/PCM instead of the ICM the 2000's diddnt have them, for the record the ECU/PCM you are going to be looking at a1 cardone, which in reality is a re-manned piece, and failure is very unlikley in an ECU

Ford uses cheap plastic (yes, a lot of manufacturers do, i'm making a point, endulge me) instead of leather for interiors, that cuts costs. They do the same with all other parts, that's how they make profits and stay in business. There aren't bad parts per say, just parts that'll be "good enough" to do the job. People think motorcraft parts are better because there's a ford logo, thus the "idiot add-on tax".

Now, while Ford enjoys the fan tax from people who haven't bothered to do their research, companies who actually make the parts have to re-invent themselves year after year and improve, to get their share of the market.

That's why you have plain spark plugs from motorcraft, or xp laser iridium gold platinum rapidfire xtreme powersport industrial spark plugs from the competition that'll kick the ass of any oem specs, at a lower cost.
yeah but on a stock ranger engine it doesnt matter and youll never see a benefit from the extreme monster pro quadruple rapidfire plats compared to Motorcraft SP500 plugs (what i use--and have had no problems with em) . Lets face it...the Ranger is an entry level truck with entry level motors compared to whats out there. Motorcraft is a sensible default supplier for this truck. on these types of vehicles just fulfilling the routine maintenance on time with parts specified for the truck is more important for its longevity than anything else. Stop acting like my truck is going to break if I use Motorcraft plugs and filters.

btw, motorcraft is a rebrander.
Fram is not a rebrander. But Fram oil filters get rebranded by certain OEMs.
Motorcraft oil filters kick the shit out of all Fram POS oil filters

I wish more people would read before they replied (hint hint).

You have not said anything informative yet
I tried to have an intelligent debate with you. you are incapable of it. I asked you about a slave and and ICM, you called them obscure parts and said I was trying to trick you.......I gave you a chance to give me an example of a part.........you refused........... You want to play the girlie game where we need to guess what you are thinking...............you are a blowhard that knows nothing about cars..............nuff said

You just made me laugh, thought you'd like to know.

Your only contribution in here, is to insult people and asking who makes what till you find one part no one can identify, no matter if it fits on your truck or not, shows your intent.

You have serious problems man, you even quoted my answer and managed to accuse me of refusing to answer

I have 3 Women at home that like to play the "see if you can read my mind and if you can't then we can talk about why you don't understand what I am trying to not say but have you know anyways game"

I come here to talk about trucks and try to help people solve their issues in the most "cost effective" way...........this was a humorous yet not very productive fork in the road......

We all know FRAM filters suck.....Declaring the Mororcraft filters are better than Fram filters is like telling me the the Earth revolves around the Sun.............and the Autolite plugs are not Morocraft plugs argument gives me a Popsicle headache.......I know they both work in our trucks.....

Q: Oil or Air filters?

My dad used to use Fram, and I don't think he ever got a bad one. I usually use Fram Air filters, but I use the better one that has a little grease to trap the particles.

if we're talking about oil filters then its true. fram filters use cardboard endcaps, motorcraft/purolator does not.

How is it that a post from a guy that spent 5 years working at Visteon get's completely disregarded in a thread that was created to weigh the merits of using Motorcraft OE?

For my small part I'll say that a Motorcraft part number is directly linked not only to your specific year make model and trim level but can actually be looked up using your vin. Zero guess work. Because sometimes manufacturers do change parts midyear and aftermarket catalogs can get this wrong if your car was manufactured within the month that the part changeover happened.

Learn to read, fucktard.

You're the one who keeps saying motorcraft is better than the different manufacturers, not me.

Quality control over parts that meet basic specs has nothing to do with this convo. We're talking about how fanboys keep insisting on how better motorcraft parts are better than the regular market, even if the regular market is the one who produces the parts.

Ford has fucked up two orders on my truck so far, because their own registry numbers didn't match the parts(and the appologized countless times and blamed all kinds of burocracy errors at the main office), how's that for irony.
