I was in Greece in 2008, and many of the farmers use a Ranger with a factory deisel. Apparently, their government isn't as tough on emissions as ours is. I don't know what deisel it is or who makes it.

It does cost a lot, but it's not impossible. If you really want to, go for it!

well here one thing to concider diesel fuel was once cheap - now as of yesterday night I saw it for 3.54.9 ouch! and the thing that get me mad about the price is diesel fuel is its a bye product of gas!.Because is diesel was say 2.00 or so a gallon I would of sold my ranger and bought a diesel by now!

yes, Diesel is expensive but most do get good mpg. My old 6.2l suburban got between 22 and 25 mpg, it was a big truck 4x4 86 suburban. That's not great gas millage but it is better then a lot of gas trucks that size, my ranger is half the size of my old truck and has a smaller engine and it gets 18 to 20 or so.

So yes the fuel is expensive, But you may get pretty decent mpg. =]

There are a few rangers if you search youtube that have them in there. It is mostly for show and racing.

Only problem when doing the swap. You gotta make sure it has the right fuel pump.

Anyone that needs cummins parts I can help you out.

That's actually not true. They base your tow rating on a number of things. If you took the right measures you could safely tow well over 7k lbs with a Ranger.

I do ponder the thought of a diesel swap, but im thinking smaller turbo diesel, like a VW diesel, becuase I dont think i'll do any towing or heavy hauling. A little VW TDI engine would get good mpg in a Ranger for sure.
