Exclamation timing on a ford 2.3L 4cyl.

i just recently bought a 1993 ford ranger xlt, shown on my picture. but when i bought it the timing belt had been broken and completely was off. i need to know which way each of the gears have to be facing, and also need to know if there is a trick to getting the crakshaft damper off. i have tried everything to get the bolt out of the middle of it, and havent had any luck. please help me!

impact to get the damper bolt out, or you could put the truck in 5th with the e-brake on, if its a stick. I'm not sure what the timing marks are though.

most timming gears have some sort of markings on them and if the to line up when you put it on then you are set to go most have dimples and some have half arrows that point at each other and only on the front side not sure this is what your where asking about but hope it helps if it is
