Operation Save the Ranger
As all of you know the Ford Ranger is being phased out after this year. Every new member has posted a thread about this. I know I have said Ford doesn't care about what we think. I started to think what if we all make a thread of why we like our trucks or why they should stay and send the ideas to Ford as a group. This would sort of be like a patician to change their mind. If anyone would like to organize and send this to Ford when we are done be my guest. So lets kick this off.

Re: Operation Save the Ranger
I like my ranger because it is really nice to have a smaller truck. If I want to haul something I can just put it in back and go. I also like it because it starts up everytime I turn the key.

Re: Operation Save the Ranger
I prefer to keep the new ranger out of north America. The only way Ford will bring back the Ranger is if you convince 30-40% of F150 owners to buy Rangers instead. Ford stopped making them becuase the market is only getting smaller.

Re: Operation Save the Ranger
Well if I wasn't so busy with school and Ford being so far away, I would organize a big rally to protest outside of Fords headquarters. Imagine rolling up to Ford 1000 deep of just Rangers. Good Lawd. Just circling around the building over and over like in Maximum Overdrive.

Re: Operation Save the Ranger
Look, the ford ranger plant is about 10 miles from my house, the ex governor, Tim Palenty, last year tried to give ford incentives to keep the ranger plant operating. Ford declined. In fact, the plant, which is located on the mississippi river, uses the river to supply it's own electricity, it's own water plant, and uses the sand from the rivers banks to make the glass for the trucks. the plant is 100% self sufficient.
so, if ford with all the incentives offered to them, still declines to keep the plant operational, I doubt a few people protesting or writing emails to ford will change their minds

Re: Operation Save the Ranger
Yeah but we have a little bit more pull with Ford since we are the customers. If you showed up with enough people, I'm talking over 1000. First off call up the news. So Ford would see that they are on the news for discontinuing the Ranger and they would know it would give them a bad name to not even consider us, when everyone is watching.

Re: Operation Save the Ranger
LOL 1000 people. get a clue, the ranger is dead. In fact, it was supposed to be dead back in 2006. it's had a repreive twice. Like a relative who is dying and has only months to live, it's time to say our goodbyes.
I'm not trying to be mean, just realistic.

Re: Operation Save the Ranger
I'm gonna have to jump on Machine's Negative Nancy parade.
The only way you could ever get Ford to listen, is if you completely boycott Ford. Go to the dealerships, say you want to look at their vehicles. Ask them about their trucks. Say you're not happy with the F-Series, and that you were more interested in what the Ranger had to offer. Tell them thanks, but that you're more interested in another auto maker. When there's enough people doing this, the dealerships will take notice, and slowly but surely the movement could make it to the head honchos at Ford. They'd notice a big decrease in interest in their products, and could introduce a how are we doing campaign, in which you could complain. Maybe then they'd get the hint.
BUT, in reality, there's enough ignorant people in the US who will still continuously listen to the dealers and allow themselves to be talked into an F-Series truck. You would need at least 1/4 of the US population to protest Ford before they'd do anything about it, and even then, the Ranger still wouldn't be what it is today, because to save money Ford would probably just introduce the global Ranger to North America.

Re: Operation Save the Ranger
If you could get enough people to make the drive it WOULD work but the problem is that people cant pay to make the trip
