I had a 76 Subaru 4 wheel drive Back around 1983 I think , and I wouldn't trust it in the snow nevermind in the mud . We did beat it pretty bad and ended up Junking it . We tried dirt , sand etc . Although it did do pretty good on the beach and up in New Hampshire on Semi tough roads but i could not handle deep in the back country .... Shallow stuff but nothing deep . Sucky tires and we did get stuck a few times . Faded Orange and Black tires , the ugliest thing you ever saw ,......Bottomed out a lot as the weight came down and it hit the mounts quite a few times ......
